William Bell performs @ The Smithsonian Folklife Festival 2011 - Washington, DC

The Smithsonian Folklife Festival will celebrate the people and culture of Rhythm and Blues music in the United States. The program will explore the social and cultural history of Rhythm and Blues with performances  by The Legendary William Bell & others, as well as conversations and workshops with well known artists, songwriters, and others who have worked behind the scenes in the recording industry.

William Bell performs with The Bo-Keys @ their release party this weekend !!!

William Bell will join The Bo-Keys on Sat. June 18th to celebrate the release of their new album, "Got to Get Back" with a soul revue featuring Mr. Bell, Otis Clay, Percy Wiggins and Sir Henry Ivy !

The Legendary William Bell collaborates with kings of Memphis soul, funk, and rhythm & blues,...The Bo-Keys.The Bo-Keys consist of young hot shot players & veteran Stax / Volt & Hi Records musicians who master the art of staying "deep in the pocket ".

Mr.Bell performs the track entitled " Weak Spot " on the forthcoming release " Got To Get Back " due out on June 21st.Other guests include Otis Clay, Charlie Musselwhite, & Percy Wiggins.It must be noted that this release was recorded on analog equipment @ Electraphonic Recording.

The official release party is June 18th @ Levitt Shell in Memphis,Tennesee & will feature William Bell & other guests.

William Bell Joins The Warren Haynes Band For Tour Debut

The Gov’t Mule / Allman Brothers Band guitarist’s latest project is an R&B-infused group featuring bassist Ron Johnson, Terence Higgins on drums, keyboardist Nigel Hall and Ruthie Foster on backing vocals. For the band’s May 12 New York City debut at the Beacon Theatre, Haynes & company will be joined by Stax Records legend William Bell. The singer is known for his trademark gravel-and-honey voice on hits like “Trying To Love Two” and his duet with Judy Clay called “Private Number” as well as co-writing “Born Under A Bad Sign” with Booker T. Jones.
